Who : Nitro
What : Rook
Where : Your Local Nitro Dealer
When : Currently in stock!
Why : Park precise, all-mountain ready, the Rook is prepared to tactfully dominate. Make bold moves on rails, boxes and kickers yet still take on natural terrain with ease. This legendary award winner will support the most aggressive riders with its Whiplash Profile for the perfect ollie snap to flex ratio and Railkiller Edge Technology for ultimate durability.

How : Starting off with Zero Camber this board has incredible stability. With a flat profile you have a huge landing surface every time your board comes back down to the snow! The flex of this board is definitely a little deceiving. It’s a softer feel like you’d expect from a park board, but with the Whiplash core (thicker underfoot) and Diamond Band (tip-to-tail carbon stringers at the sides) it unloads pop and digs like an all mountain ruler. The Rail Killer Edges are kind of a no brainer, thicker edge = more durable (don’t know why this isn’t an industry standard, adanvtage-Nitro)

Personal Thoughts : The first thing I noticed about this board was the stability. It’s something you can’t ignore. I really enjoyed the playfulness of this board as well. It was a nice soft predictable feel but there was no shortage of pop and springiness. I was able to take some high-speed runs as well and the edge hold proved that you can take this thing outside of the park and not have to worry about it washing out. All in all if you’re a park rat but still enjoy ripping up some groomers, take back a few more cans and spend a little extra (retail $499) and you won’t be disappointed!
