Staff Pick : Sam Schowalter and Harrison Mcilhargey

This marks a first for us seeing as we have never had a joint Staff Pick. We see it only fitting considering these dudes seem to be best buds and have some sort of matching Jedi hair thing going on. Actually that’s not it at all. When we first started Michigan Boarder and only had the Facebook up and running both of these guys had got in contact with us about the other persons edit. Neither person knew the other had done it.  It was really cool and totally selfless. I didn’t really realize until recently that they were pals.

I saw them both ride at Hawk’s preseason rail jam, but didn’t really get a chance to check their riding out for real until they made a trip to Bittersweet. Much like Hawk Island, it wasn’t the best conditions and it didn’t give me a great insight to their full capabilities, but one thing is certain… They are both solid as a rock. Super talented kids for sure!  Similar riding styles, which I am sure is from riding together all the time, but both do still retain their own individual qualities.  Their collective bag of tricks is huge. They both ride fast, hard, and are super fun to watch.  They are a prime example of the high level of talent that Cannonsburg is producing in the youth that ride there. Sam and Harrison are tech, sure footed, and well-rounded shreds. Both of these dudes are super positive and are fun to watch snowboard, thus, earning their spots as this week’s Staff Pick. Enjoy!

I’m hoping to film a lot this coming year with Nate. A street part is the ultimate goal this year.  I’d say my motivation in snowboarding mostly comes from Harrison’s sexy style and Nate’s supreme dancing ability.  I just love snowboarding every day with friends! Prepare to watch some killer edits coming from Nathan Kudla this year.  Also shout out to Harrison McIlhargey for never cutting his hair!

Talk about the edit:  This edit is basically just a mash up of the best tricks that I got in the park last year done by the one and only Nathan Kudla.

I’m 16 years old and I started snowboarding about when I was in sixth grade. I started off on a board that my cousin gave me and I have loved riding since then! I’m so psyched to see the snowboard community in Michigan growing bigger and better. I’ve met so many friends through snowboarding and I feel like it’s a pretty tight knit group of riders here which is really cool. It’s also sick to see the progression that Cannonsburg has made in the past few years. This year I want to ride a lot more in the streets and hopefully put together a full part. Love hot laps with the boys in the park and poo flavored gelato. Shout out to Sam Schowalter for coming out of the closet last week.

Talk about the edit:

This edit was all the footage I got from last season. Both Nate and Addison filmed the shots in this one. Nate brought the footy to his magic workshop and made my season edit.

Addison came home for winter break and filmed a bunch to make this killer edit!
